The
L Word is a television drama airing on Showtime and portrays the lives
of a group of lesbians and their friends and lovers in the West Hollywood
area of Los Angeles. The show premiered on January 18, 2004 and is now
on hiatus before its fourth season airs.
The
show was created by Illene Chaiken, Kathy Greenberg, and Michele Abbott.
Ilene Chaiken is also executive producer. Rose Troche is a series producer,
writer, and has directed many episodes of the show. The writer AM Holmes
has also penned an episode and is now a series producer. Elizabeth Ziff
and the band Betty also have undue influence on the show which sadly
goes beyond just making bad music.
